Yes, there are specific market trading hours which depending on whether you are investing on the South African or American (USA) exchanges available on the platform.
South African exchanges
Current trading hours for the South African exchanges are:
09:15am - 16:40pm Monday to Friday.
Exchanges will be closed on Public Holidays.
As referenced in the EasyEquities Terms and Conditions, (which govern your use of the Investment platform) you may only open and close trades during the published trading hours above. We will not execute any instructions to trade outside of these hours.
Should you wish to buy shares outside of market hours, you can utilise our Buy Instruction functionality on the site, whereby you indicate what instrument you wish us to purchase for you when the markets open.
Should the Platform mistakenly allow for a trade entry outside these hours, we reserve the right to cancel any and all such Trade(s).
The Johannesburg Stock Exchange opens for trading at 09:00am. Between 8:45am and 09:00am the markets are in auction and trading is suspended.
Bidvest Bank Investments opens for trading at 09:15 to make allowance for the possibility of an extended auction.
Bidvest Bank Investments closes for trading at 16:40 so that we can prepare for the evening auction.
